KELLY REGAN
owner/movement specialist

Kelly began moving at a young age through dance and martial arts. She pursued both for many years and then continued into the world of dance and dance teaching. After a short time with Texas Ballet Theater, she relocated to London to continue dancing professionally.
While in London, Kelly gained her BA (HONS) in Ballet Education from The Royal Academy of Dance. Soon after she was asked to join Alan Herdman’s Pilates Teacher Training program in 2012. The program allowed students to work directly with Alan and dance Physiotherapist Shirley Hancock.
Kelly went on to become the Girls Body Conditioning Coach at The Royal Ballet School, Upper School. During her time there, she was able to work alongside Physical Therapist Luke Abnett and Jane Paris at The Royal Ballet and Opera House.
Upon her arrival in California, Kelly began teaching both Classical Ballet and Pilates out of studios in Carmel. In 2015 she founded the Carmel Valley Athletic Club Pilates Studio and developed a program that was handed off to the club in 2017. After leaving CVAC, Kelly began working with Hiromi Ozawa of Nexus Studio Monterey. Kelly learned many incredible techniques during her near 4 year employment with Nexus. During the pandemic, she was unable to teach in-studio due to state mandates, so she began a virtual studio and started offering in-home visits. This sparked the idea of opening her own studio, Body Movement Pilates. In April 2021 she opened the Pilates Studio at The Santa Lucia Preserve “The Pilates Barn”.
By the end of 2021 she opened her main studio, Body Movement Pilates, in downtown Monterey. When Kelly isn’t moving, hiking or helping others at BMP, you can find her covered in clay at the ceramic studio! She loves all things DIY including candle-making, organic home-made cleaning products and more. She hopes to instill playfulness into her sessions and reminds everyone that although we work hard in the studio, there’s always room for laughter!

MARGRET “MEG” KELLY
occupational therapist/movement specialist
Meg first discovered Pilates at a young age while recovering from bilateral L4/L5 spine fractures and trying to return to an active lifestyle. This experience ignited a passion for understanding the impact movement has on overall well-being and self-perception, ultimately shaping her career trajectory.
She pursued undergraduate studies in biobehavioral health and a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, developing particular interest in the neuroscience of movement. Meg’s career began in an outpatient neurological rehabilitation setting in Chicago. Her patients' resilience and determination to regain movement and function inspired her to seek advanced training in evidence-based therapies grounded in neuromuscular re-education and motor learning. She became certified in LSVT BIG, specializing in enhancing the quality of movement for individuals with Parkinson's disease.
Her passion for rehabilitation and functional movement led her to pursue additional certifications that focused on assessing and improving quality of movement and injury prevention. Eventually Meg sought opportunities through Pilates to extend her practice from clinical/hospital-based to community/wellness-based.

Meg blends the comprehensive movement principles from her Pilates instructor certification and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) certifications with sport-specific principles from her Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certifications. This integrative approach enables her to create personalized programs that address a wide range of movement needs, improve performance, and support injury prevention.
Outside the studio Meg enjoys hiking, walking the beach, capturing memorable photos from her trips to state parks and national parks, and cycling.
